Sa’fyre Terry is 8 years old. She’s the sole survivor of a fatal arson fire that killed her father, sister, and two brothers.

75 percent of Sa’fyre’s body was burned, but according to her Facebook fan page, she has a “strong will to live and recover”.

This holiday season, Sa’fyre isn’t asking for Barbie dolls or clothes — she’s asking for Christmas cards.

Her paternal aunt, Liz Dolder, who has custody of Sa’fyre, bought a Christmas card holder. According to Dolder’s Facebook page, Sa’fyre said, “I can’t wait to fill up the card tree” to which her aunt responded, “I don’t think it’s going to get filled up, but I am sure we will get a few more cards.”

Since Sa’fyre doesn’t have much remaining immediate family, her aunt extended a request to her Facebook followers to send in greetings for their card tree.

What she didn’t expect was the outpouring of love, support, and Christmas cards that Sa’fyre would actually receive. Since her original post, Sa’fyre’s Christmas card request has gone viral and has been picked up by Buzzfeed, the Today Show, and more.

In the wiat.com’s news posted on 18th December, the surprises keep coming for Sa’fyre Terry, receiving holiday cheer from all around the globe.

On Thursday there was a parade escort by Santa Claus, police officers, postal inspectors, and crowds of other well-wishers all setting off from the post office, walking to her house with the latest shipment of holiday greetings.

So far, the post office estimates Sa’fyre has received more than 400,000 cards and 10,000 packages.

Sources close to her family say she is going to donate a lot of her gifts to homeless children and cancer patients.
